Our commitment

Pistachio & Cream is committed to making our website accessible and easy to use for all visitors. We are working to improve the experience for people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.

What we are doing

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Steps we have already taken include:

• The whole site can be operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link on every page.
• Semantic structure (one main heading per page, landmarks, and labelled links and buttons) for screen-reader users.
• Text and background colours are chosen to meet AA contrast (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and controls).
• Images have descriptive alternative text, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Links that open in a new tab announce that to screen-reader users.
• Animations are reduced automatically when your device requests reduced motion.
• The layout reflows and stays usable at up to 200% zoom and on small phone screens.

Accessibility tools

As an extra aid, every page includes an accessibility tools button (bottom-right) that lets you adjust contrast, colour, text size, spacing, fonts, motion, a reading guide, and more. These tools are a convenience — the site is built to be accessible on its own as well.

Our café at 1801 L Street is on a ground-floor corner with a step-free entrance from the sidewalk. If you need assistance during your visit, our team is always happy to help.
